leanna.png

Karen graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Master of Science (Speech and Language Pathology) on a National Healthcare Group (NHG) Scholarship.

She has several years of experience working as a speech and language therapist in a major hospital, at a community-based Early intervention Programme for Infants and Children (EIPIC) and at a private speech clinic. Karen is passionate about helping children communicate meaningfully and enjoy their meals. She has worked effectively with individuals across the lifespan including children with speech and language delays, Global Developmental Delay (GDD), Down Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Karen has a special interest in oral motor development and helping fussy/picky eaters discover a love for food and eating.

Karen is well-versed with multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary work and has worked closely with teachers, occupational therapists and psychologists to develop holistic individualised intervention plans. She is a firm believer that it takes a village to raise a child and that the parent or caregiver is a key member. Hence, she works hard to empower parents with strategies and skills to deliver positive outcomes and help their child reach their full potential.
