Ms Kristin Chiu
Early Intervention Teacher
Kristin started working with children in the mainstream setting as a preschool teacher for 5 years before she found her passion working with special needs children. Ever since then, she has been teaching in the early intervention field for 7 years, in both private and social service sector.
Having worked in a transdisciplinary team and adopted the multi-tier support system, family-centred practices, activity-based intervention, routine-based model, as well as Structured Teaching (TEACCH), Kristin is equipped with knowledge and strategies to provide individualised intervention in collaboration with various therapists and families.
Throughout the years, Kristin believes that early intervention is not just about teaching. She is driven to make a positive difference in the lives of the children as well as the families, by empowering them to be advocates for their child/self, through positive behaviour management strategies and strength-based approach.
